Day 2: We start with a city sightseeing tour of the most important sights in Oslo's city center. We will visit Vigeland Sculpture Park, located in Oslo 3 km northwest of the city centre. The park covers 80 acres (320,000 m2) and features 212 bronze and granite sculptures created by Gustav Vigeland. Vigeland personally sculpted every figure out of clay and individual craftsmen were contracted to fabricate the pieces into what they are today. These works of art reside along an 850 meter-long axis divided into six sections: The Main Gate, The Bridge,The Children's Playground, The Fountain, The Monolith Plateau and the Wheel of Life. Next on the program is The Holmenkollen Ski Jump.* There has been jumping in Holmenkollen almost every year since 1892. Holmenkollen is considered to be one of the world's three most famous sporting arenas. The area is also hosting the Ski Museum: the world's oldest museum of specialty ski opened in 1923. Here you can experience Skiing history over 4000 years. Today's museum is shot into the mountain next to the Holmenkollen ski jump. Ski Museum is owned and operated by Skiforeningen. Ski Museum's overarching objective is to promote ski sport.
